Garlic Walnut Dip

Ingredients: 100g walnuts, 3 cloves of garlic, 2 tablespoons of olive oil, ½ teaspoon of salt, a pinch of black pepper, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, 50g of yoghurt and so on.

 

The walnuts should be roasted in the oven at 180°C for 8-10 minutes until they are fragrant and lightly browned. Then, remove them from the oven and allow them to cool. Peel and mince the garlic. Place the cooled walnuts in a blender and add the minced garlic, olive oil, salt, black pepper and lemon juice. Blend on low speed to initially break up the ingredients, then turn to high speed until a fine sauce is formed. Pause the blender as necessary and use a spatula to scrape the ingredients off the walls of the cups to ensure an even blend. Finally, add the yoghurt and blend again to combine, and your Garlic Walnut Dip is ready. This dip boasts a rich garlic aroma with the mellow flavour of walnuts, and the addition of yoghurt adds a touch of freshness and tartness. This versatile dip can be served with bread and biscuits for breakfast or afternoon tea, or as a accompaniment to vegetable sticks, such as cucumbers and carrots, adding depth of flavour to a healthy diet.
